Hi, I’m Abdul Mateen.

My journey began in 2013, the same year I completed my studies. Even then, I knew the traditional 9-to-5 wasn’t for me. I wanted to carve out my own path to make something bigger and more meaningful. Growing up as a millennial, I was fascinated by the technological advancements I witnessed in my adolescent years. During my university years, I encountered terms like affiliate marketing, SEO, and more, but at that time, they were just buzzwords for me.

After completing my university degree, I felt a strong urge to dive deeper into the world of technology. I realized that my true passion lay in understanding and optimizing hardware, particularly laptops, to make them more accessible and useful for everyone. Over the past 11 years, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering this field.

Now, in 2024, I’ve ventured into affiliate marketing with a clear mission: to provide honest, expert advice with hands-on experience that truly helps people make the right decisions when buying laptops and their accessories.

A Decade of Expertise in Hardware:

My journey into hardware started with a genuine love for technology. During my teen years, I was fascinated by how things worked, especially the gadgets and devices that surrounded me. It wasn’t just about using them; I wanted to understand them inside out. This curiosity naturally evolved into a deep expertise in hardware, especially laptops. I have been in the hardware industry for 11 years, and over the course, I have tested more than 1,100 laptops.

How I Test Laptops:

When testing laptops, I don’t only rely on benchmarks because they are just numbers. I believe in real-life experiences, which is why when test the laptop, I use it in real-life situations. These tests help us understand how the laptop performs under real-life conditions like an end user.

When I pick a laptop, I test it like any regular user would. I don’t just look at the specs—I actually use the laptop for everything from streaming videos to multitasking with apps, gaming and much more. I run benchmarks, check battery life, and evaluating the display, speakers, keyboard, and trackpad. This hands-on approach gives me a clear picture of how the laptop performs in real life.

I also pay close attention to the software side. I make sure there’s no bloatware slowing things down, and I check that all drivers are up-to-date. By fully assessing both hardware and software, I ensure that the laptops I recommend offer the best user experience possible.

My Digital Marketing Journey

After a decade in hardware, I realized it was time to take my passion for tech a step further. That’s when I started GreatTech.us with a simple goal: to help people. I’ve always loved solving problems and sharing my knowledge, so creating content that benefits others felt like a natural next step. To make sure my insights reached those who needed them, I dove into digital marketing, mastering SEO to get my content in front of the right audience. And to support my mission, I integrated affiliate links, allowing me to continue helping people while sustaining my work.
